Introduced with the 2018 vintage, Oakcross Proprietary Red represents our family’s continued focus on exploring the potential of our Oakville Estate and the broader Oakville AVA. The name — shorthand for Oakville Cross Road and the moniker given to our property when it was originally planted — symbolizes both the central position of our estate and the corridor that connects Groth to the distinguished Oakville grower partners who also contribute to this superior Napa Valley red blend. Each vintage, the blend for this wine is guided by the conditions of the growing season and our winemakers’ intuition.

Tasting Notes

The 2019 Oakcross Proprietary Red presents itself with an intense, dark ruby color. It opens with scents of red plum, perfume and aromatic floral notes of violet, along with hints of pomegranate, persimmon and vanilla cream. The mouthfeel is plush, soft and balanced, with perfectly resolved tannins and flavors of tart plum skin and rich, dark berries.

For 2019, the Cabernet Sauvignon came from the Reserve blocks of our Oakville Estate. The Merlot is from our Hillview Estate Vineyard, with additional Merlot and Petit Verdot sourced from distinguished grower partners.

Pairing

Delicious with a grilled steak, this wine is also superb with barbecue or slow cooked heirloom beans with a dash of bacon. Lamb kofta also makes for a winning pairing.

Where can you ship to?

All states except AL, AR, DE, IN, LA, MS, OK, RI, UT, WV and WY. Please note it remains illegal to ship wine to any community in the state of Kentucky that prohibits the local sale of alcohol ("dry communities").

When will I receive my wine?

Ground shipping orders will arrive in 7-10 business days. Orders with Overnight, 2-Day and 3-Day shipping will ship the same business day if placed by 9 a.m. Pacific. We do not ship over the weekend.

When will I receive my tracking information?

Your tracking information will be emailed to you once your package is scanned and the wine is in transit.

SHIPPING DEADLINES:

Orders placed by 9 a.m. Monday through Friday will ship the same business day. Orders placed on weekends or holidays will ship the following business day.
