Pale straw in color, the 2024 Estate Chardonnay opens with inviting aromas of red delicious apple, whole grains, honeysuckle, apricot, apple tart, and tangerine zest. The palate is vibrant and layered, revealing flavors of pineapple, preserved lemon, cara cara orange, subtle maple, and a refined saline note that carries through the finish.

Our 44-acre Hillview Estate, acquired in 1982, was initially sought for its exceptional Merlot. We’ve since discovered its capacity to produce world-class Chardonnay and strategically replanted 24 acres with select clones. Clone 4 (Wente) produces healthy-sized clusters that mature later, balancing ripe, expressive fruit with fresh, bright acidity and a distinct mineral edge. Early-ripening Clone 76 (Dijon) produces smaller clusters and yields wines that are aromatic and well-balanced. Both clones are well-suited to the vineyard’s alluvial soils as well as the cooling influence of San Pablo Bay.

Pairing

The wine’s citrus and salinity pair beautifully with the sweetness and brininess in a scallop crudo. As an alternative, try it with crab cakes featuring a touch of spice or duck breast with Anjou pear sauce.

KENTUCKY RESIDENTS: It remains illegal to ship wine to any community in the state that prohibits the local sale of alcohol (“dry communities”). By submitting an order through this website, you actively affirm that you can legally receive alcohol at the shipping address provided.

When will I receive my wine?

Ground shipping orders will arrive in 7-10 business days, except in extreme weather, when orders will be held until safe to ship. Orders with Overnight, 2-Day, and 3-Day shipping will ship the same business day if placed by 9 a.m. Pacific. We do not ship over the weekend.

When will I receive my tracking information?

Your tracking information will be emailed to you once your package is scanned and the wine is in transit.

SHIPPING DEADLINES:

Orders placed by 9 a.m. Monday through Friday will ship the same business day. Orders placed on weekends or holidays will ship the following business day.
