The 2023 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon represents the finest lots of the vintage from our Reserve blocks on the Oakville Estate. From harvest through bottling, this vintage showed exceptional promise, building excitement among our vineyard and cellar teams at every stage. Director of Winegrowing, Ted Henry, calls it “the vintage of his lifetime,” a sentiment that reflects the remarkable character we saw developing in the cellar.

Deep purple-ruby in color, Groth’s 2023 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon offers an expressive Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon experience, with aromas of vanilla bean, blackcurrant, cedarwood, plum skin, bay leaf, and raspberry compote. On the palate, rich layers of blackberry and espresso bean unfold alongside baked rhubarb, crème brûlée, cinnamon, and almond cake. Perfectly proportioned tannins provide structure and elegance, while a beautifully balanced finish carries the wine’s depth and complexity.

This wine represents the finest lots from the Reserve Vineyard on the Groth family’s Oakville Estate. The vineyard is a 12.10-acre band with an unusually high amount of chert, a hard, compact sedimentary rock made of quartz crystals and fossils. The site’s unique soil profile and ideal climate combine to produce the ultimate expression of Oakville—elegant, age-worthy wines from one of the world’s top Cabernet appellations.

Pairing

Earthy mushrooms, caramelized onions, and nutty Gruyère complement the 2023 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, while balsamic and fresh thyme highlight its bright fruit and subtle herbal notes. Buttery pastry and toasted richness echo the wine’s blackberry, cedar, espresso, and almond cake character.

When will I receive my wine?

Ground shipping orders will arrive in 7-10 business days, except in extreme weather, when orders will be held until safe to ship. Orders with Overnight, 2-Day, and 3-Day shipping will ship the same business day if placed by 9 a.m. Pacific. We do not ship over the weekend.

When will I receive my tracking information?

Your tracking information will be emailed to you once your package is scanned and the wine is in transit.

SHIPPING DEADLINES:

Orders placed by 9 a.m. Monday through Friday will ship the same business day. Orders placed on weekends or holidays will ship the following business day.
