It was known as “Oakcross” back in 1981 when Dennis and Judy Groth made our Oakville Estate vineyard their family’s lifework. They purchased the site with a leap of faith, a love for Cabernet and the notion that this spot in Oakville was nothing short of magical.

Our Groth Oakcross Proprietary Red encompasses 40 years of dedication, focus, and refinement: a vintage-driven blend of the finest Merlot from our Hillview Estate, Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon from our iconic Reserve Vineyard, and select parcels from our prized Oakville neighbors. Director of Winegrowing Ted Henry describes this newest gem in our portfolio as “plush, soft and balanced, with perfectly resolved tannins and flavors of tart plum skin and rich, dark berries.”

The 2019 Oakcross Proprietary Red presents itself with an intense, dark ruby color. It opens with scents of red plum, perfume and aromatic floral notes of violet, along with hints of pomegranate, persimmon and vanilla cream. The mouthfeel is plush, soft and balanced, with perfectly resolved tannins and flavors of tart plum skin and rich, dark berries.

For 2019, the Cabernet Sauvignon came from the Reserve blocks of our Oakville Estate. The Merlot is from our Hillview Estate Vineyard, with additional Merlot and Petit Verdot sourced from distinguished grower partners.

Pairing

Delicious with a grilled steak, this wine is also superb with barbecue or slow cooked heirloom beans with a dash of bacon. Lamb kofta also makes for a winning pairing.

Where can you ship to?

All states except AL, AR, DE, IN, LA, MS, OK, RI, UT, WV and WY. Please note it remains illegal to ship wine to any community in the state of Kentucky that prohibits the local sale of alcohol ("dry communities").

When will I receive my wine?

Ground shipping orders will arrive in 7-10 business days. Orders with Overnight, 2-Day and 3-Day shipping will ship the same business day if placed by 9 a.m. Pacific. We do not ship over the weekend.

When will I receive my tracking information?

Your tracking information will be emailed to you once your package is scanned and the wine is in transit.

SHIPPING DEADLINES:

Orders placed by 9 a.m. Monday through Friday will ship the same business day. Orders placed on weekends or holidays will ship the following business day.
