Launched with the 2019 vintage, Groth’s Oakville Neighbors Series explores the diversity of Oakville Cabernet through single-vineyard grower lots that stand on their own as a distinct expression of the appellation.

The Mayor of Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon comes from a vineyard owned by Ren Harris, and his wife, Marilyn. Dennis and Judy Groth met Ren, then a real estate agent, two years before they moved to Napa. Ren and his partner, Jean Phillips (who later founded Screaming Eagle), guided Dennis and Judy to what is now our Oakville Estate, much as they introduced other Oakville vintners to their own properties.

In our Mayor of Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon, you’ll find a captivating array of aromas: cocoa powder, blueberry cobbler, Persian dates, red plum, black cherry, black currant, graphite, black pepper, and hints of violets. The Cabernet Sauvignon for this wine is grown on Ren Harris’ vineyard on the west side of Oakville at the base of the Mayacamas mountain range. Because the sun exposure is so different there, the Cabernet Sauvignon grapes ripen as much as two to three weeks later than our Oakville Estate fruit.

Pairing

With its power and flavor profile, this wine will pair perfectly with a dry-aged New York steak, seared on a hot grill, then served with grilled polenta and a mushroom-red wine reduction.

Where can you ship to?

All states except AL, AR, DE, IN, LA, MS, OK, RI, UT, WV and WY. Please note it remains illegal to ship wine to any community in the state of Kentucky that prohibits the local sale of alcohol ("dry communities").

When will I receive my wine?

Ground shipping orders will arrive in 7-10 business days. Orders with Overnight, 2-Day and 3-Day shipping will ship the same business day if placed by 9 a.m. Pacific. We do not ship over the weekend.

When will I receive my tracking information?

Your tracking information will be emailed to you once your package is scanned and the wine is in transit.

SHIPPING DEADLINES:

Orders placed by 9 a.m. Monday through Friday will ship the same business day. Orders placed on weekends or holidays will ship the following business day.
