Launched with the 2018 vintage, Groth’s Oakville Neighbors Series explores the diversity of Oakville Cabernet through single-vineyard grower lots that stand on their own as a distinct expression of the appellation.

The Lincoln Creek Cabernet Sauvignon comes from a vineyard owned by Ren Harris, sometimes referred to as the “grandfather of Oakville,” and his wife, Marilyn. Dennis and Judy Groth met Ren, then a real estate agent, two years before they moved to Napa. Ren and his partner, Jean Phillips (who later founded Screaming Eagle), guided Dennis and Judy to what is now our Oakville Estate, much as they introduced other Oakville vintners to their own properties

Tasting Notes

This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon shows aromas of intense, bright fruit, marzipan and ripe plums, and flavors of dark cane berries and slightly dried fruit. With rich oak spice and firm tannins, the 2018 Lincoln Creek exhibits both power and finesse with a long spicy finish and lasting impressions of tart berry and black cherry.

The Cabernet Sauvignon for this wine is grown on Ren Harris’ vineyard on the west side of Oakville at the base of the Mayacamas mountain range. Because the sun exposure is so different there, the Cabernet Sauvignon grapes ripen as much as two to three weeks later than our Oakville Estate fruit.

Pairing

Braised short ribs with root vegetables or a big ol’ juicy hamburger will be excellent companions for this wine. If meat isn’t for you, a rich wild mushroom risotto will make an excellent pairing.

Where can you ship to?

All states except AL, AR, DE, IN, LA, MS, OK, RI, UT, WV and WY. Please note it remains illegal to ship wine to any community in the state of Kentucky that prohibits the local sale of alcohol ("dry communities").

When will I receive my wine?

Ground shipping orders will arrive in 7-10 business days. Orders with Overnight, 2-Day and 3-Day shipping will ship the same business day if placed by 9 a.m. Pacific. We do not ship over the weekend.

When will I receive my tracking information?

Your tracking information will be emailed to you once your package is scanned and the wine is in transit.

SHIPPING DEADLINES:

Orders placed by 9 a.m. Monday through Friday will ship the same business day. Orders placed on weekends or holidays will ship the following business day.
